"I am writing to tell you how pleased I am with my recent experience with your firm. While your response to my phone call was to provide prompt, same-day service, what truly impressed me was your service technician.
This gentleman seemed highly competent, well-organized, and focused on getting the job done. From what I observed, he wasted no time in solving the problem with the garage doors. Just as importantly, however, he carefully explained to me what he was doing, why he was doing it, and the costs likely to result.
Living in this house for the past fifteen years, we have had many occasions to work with various service technicians and repair people, but I have never before felt compelled to write a letter such as this, expressing my pleasure with a job well done.
Your technician is a wonderful representative for your company. Because of him, I would not hesitate to recommend Piedmont Door Service to any of my friends and neighbors. I hope you appreciate his work for you and realize what an asset he is to your organization." ~ Greg Huddleton

Can I replace a section of my door, or do I need to replace the whole door?
Depending upon the damage involved, replacing only a section of your garage door is possible in some cases. Give Piedmont Door Service a call and speak to one of our experienced technicians who can help you to evaluate your situation and recommend the best course of action.
What is R-value, and how does it benefit me?
R-value is a standardized measurement of thermal efficiency. The higher the R-value, the greater the garage door’s insulating properties. We provide a wide range of insulated garage doors for residential and commercial, with a broad range of R-values designed to meet your needs..
What garage door best compliments my home’s architecture?
This is a common question when it comes to choosing a garage door. Piedmont Door Service offers many designs, with a number of options to further customize your garage door. In addition, our manufacturers provides an app that allow you to take a picture of the current garage door(s) and paste in images of new doors to see which style would best suit.
My garage door opener goes down a little and goes back up…
Normally, your photo eyes (sensors at bottom of door) are misaligned. Make sure the little lights are on solid on the photo eyes if not, they may need a small adjustment. Make sure the lights line up on each side. Check to see if anything is sitting in front of those sensors that could interfere with the laser sensor. Also, try unplugging the garage door opener from the ceiling outlet (for 30 seconds) then plugging it back into the outlet.
My Garage Door won’t open…
Is there power on the rest of the residence?
Is the garage door opener plugged into the electrical outlet in the ceiling?
Check the breaker switch to make sure there is power going to the outlet.
Is the torsion spring above the garage door broken?
Look above your garage door, the big coil (called a torsion spring) above may be in a couple of pieces. Give us a call for repair. This is something only a professional should tackle.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS YOURSELF.
COULD CAUSE SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH!
My wires (torsion cables) on the side of the garage door are loose or have come off.
Leave this one for the professionals as well. We can fix it right up for you.
When I was closing the garage door, a broom was in the way…now my garage door is crooked…
When your garage door goes off track trying to fix it yourself can be very dangerous. The cables and torsion springs will need to be recalibrated. Unless you are a trained technician, call a professional. This will save you a lot of time and money.
When I was backing out of my garage, I hit my door…
When a garage door has been hit there are many things that happen. If you are not a trained garage door service professional and try to put it back by yourself, you could potentially damage your garage door even more and end up buying a new one. The best bet is to give us a call. If we are able to repair the door, great. Or maybe just a few sections need to be replaced. Whatever the case may be we will be there to offer you the best suggestion.
I know we are supposed to have a tune-up on our vehicles, why would I need to have a garage door and garage door opener tune-up?
Your garage door and garage door opener have many moving parts. On average a garage door gets opened two – four times a day. Over time, just like your car parts, garage doors and garage door openers begin to show wear and tear. If the garage door isn’t tuned-up on an annual basis, the garage door and/or opener can become loud, won’t roll up and down very well or can stop working all together.
